Each tenugui (手拭い)are hand wrapped, tied, knotted, and/or sewn before dying. This produces a unique and beautiful pattern for each piece. They can be used as blindfolds, head support in suspensions, or rope totes in your kit.
At its simplest, tenugui are multi-purpose hand towels the Japanese used for many purposes. Traditionally, workers carried their lunches in them and, after lunch, tied them about their heads as a sweat band.
Each tenugui is 17inches by 38inches and made from organic cotton.
